A Beach Wedding at Paradise Cove in Malibu

One of my favorite venues is a beach wedding at Paradise Cove in Malibu. There are dozens of beautiful locations in Los Angeles county but the reason I like Paradise Cove is because it’s so cozy and can be very private even though it’s a public beach.

The beach is in a small cove with the Paradise Beach Cafe, which is much more than just a cafe. It’s actually a beach club where you could spend the entire day relaxing, eating and drinking. For a wedding venue, it’s a fun place to have the wedding and your reception, or at least have some drinks and appetizers with your guests before moving on to a reception venue. The food in the cafe is good!

The Great Things about Paradise Cove:
–By Los Angeles standards it’s a small cozy beach rather than a wide expansive beach.
–At low tide, you can have your wedding around the point in an even-smaller cove.
–It’s a dramatic setting with rocks and cliffs; great for photos!

A Few Bad Things about Paradise Cove:
–Parking is $30 per car. Although, it is $3 for 4 hours with a restaurant validation (minimum purchase $25.00). That’s why it makes sense to have some sort of reception before or after your wedding. There’s no where to park nearby for free and walk down and walk-ins are charged $10 per person.
–Summer is very crowded and because there is limited parking you need to plan accordingly.
–The venue works best for small weddings of less than 30 people.
–It might be difficult for people with limited mobility to walk in the sand to the more-private area of the beach.

I suggest you contact the Paradise Beach Cafe for more details about not only the beach as a wedding venue but also how they can assist in providing some food or drinks to offset the parking fees. You and your guests will have a great time and wonderful wedding memories!
